A prayer, an artwork and a sign, every year.

Each year Music for Global Peace opens three projects side by side. All three open in January and each becomes a video with music, released together on World Peace Day, 21 September.

Project three · 2nd edition · 2027

Peace From East

By the people of the East, for the entire world

A peace project from the East for the entire world, bringing together people to raise a peace sign. Send a short video of yourself raising a peace sign — from Pakistan, India, Thailand, or the UAE — with no words needed and nothing to pay. The videos are gathered and set to the peace anthem recorded in 2004, in one music video with no names and no credits: just faces, signs, and the anthem. The video belongs to everyone because it belongs to no one.

The anthem was first filmed in 2004. In 2027, India joins, and the second edition opens in January.

Released as: a music video — the peace anthem over people’s peace-sign videos. No names, no credits.

Why three

Three ways for peace to travel.

The prayer

Words that become music.

Each artist writes a single line. From many languages and many places, the lines are woven into one prayer.

Set to music, it becomes something you can listen to.

The artwork

Art, sent by post.

A handmade artwork takes its time. It passes through many hands and arrives in yours.

It is something you can see and hold.

The sign

Faces raised for peace.

A two-word anthem and a simple video format that has already travelled the world. Every year, new faces from the East. No names, no credits — just faces, signs, and the anthem.

It is something you can see and hear.

Words you can hear. Art you can see. Faces you can feel. Three global peace projects, one release day — every 21 September.

MAILart
What is mail art?

Mail art is art made to travel through the post. For decades, artists around the world have exchanged it freely, often without fees or juries, as a way of staying connected. It is a natural home for a project about peace.

If you are an artist at heart, you are welcome.

Painters, singers, poets, makers, performers, and anyone who loves to create.

A message from the founder

For 25 years, I have made music for peace — not because I believed music could stop a war, but because I believed it could reach a heart. One heart at a time.

That work has grown into three annual projects: World Prayer for Peace (words become music — because we all pray in some way, whatever faith or no faith), World Mail Art for Peace (art travels by post — because art has no boundaries, as peace has no boundaries), and Peace From East (faces raise peace signs — a message of peace from the people of the East to the entire world). All open on January 1. All release on September 21, World Peace Day. Every year.

I do not ask for money or recognition. I ask only this: if you are an artist at heart, you are welcome. Send a line. Send an artwork. Raise a sign. Be part of it — or simply watch, and know that somewhere in the East, someone is saying what you are saying too.

“We smile with the same expression. We cry with the same tears. Peace for all.”
