Questions you might have.
Is it really free?
Yes. All three projects are free for everyone. Music for Global Peace is self-funded and does not ask for donations.
Who can take part?
World Prayer for Peace welcomes artists of every kind, and anyone who is an artist at heart, from all faiths and any country. World Mail Art for Peace is open to everyone, worldwide. Peace From East in 2027 is open to people in Pakistan, India, Thailand and the UAE. Nobody needs to travel, and there is nothing to prove.
Do I need to belong to a faith?
No. Artists from all faiths take part, and there is no religious requirement.
How do I send my prayer line?
Use the form on this page or email prayer@musicforglobalpeace.org, when the call opens on 1 January. No social media is needed.
Can I take part in all three projects?
Yes. You are welcome to take part in one, two, or all three.
Which languages can I use for my prayer line?
English is preferred, but any language is welcome. We translate every line into English.
How many artworks can I send?
Any number, there is no limit.
Will my artwork be returned?
No. Submitted artworks will not be returned.
What happens to my artwork?
It is collected, scanned and brought together with peaceful music in the Global Peace Music Mail Art Video. Every artist is credited by name and country.
What size should my artwork be?
There is no restriction. Send anything a scanner can handle, from a small postcard up to a flat A3 sheet. For email, a clear scan or photo in JPG or PNG is fine.
Can I send my work after 30 June 2027?
No. The deadline is final, and works must reach us by 30 June 2027 to be in the video.
Who owns my work?
You do. You keep ownership of your work and give Music for Global Peace permission to use it in the project, with you credited. We may edit it when needed, and final decisions rest with us. Read the full permission terms.
Will my words or artwork be edited?
Possibly, only if needed. Music for Global Peace has the right to edit a submission when it helps the project, for example to shorten a prayer line for length, translate it, or crop or resize an artwork. We keep the spirit of your words and your work, the team decides what is best for the project, and final decisions rest with Music for Global Peace.
How will I be credited?
In World Prayer for Peace and World Mail Art for Peace, every artist is credited by name and country, and everyone who takes part is included. (Peace From East is anonymous.) For mail art, please also include the title of the work.
How are the projects released?
Every year, each project is released as its own music video, together on World Peace Day, 21 September. In World Prayer for Peace, the prayer lines are narrated over background music, with every artist credited. In World Mail Art for Peace, every artwork is scanned and shown over background music, with every artist credited. In Peace From East, the peace anthem plays over the videos people send of themselves raising a peace sign — no names, no credits.
What is Peace From East?
Peace From East is the flagship anthem of Music for Global Peace — a two-word peace anthem recorded in 2004, with a proven multi-nation video format. Every year, it is renewed with new peace signs from the East, released on World Peace Day. It is anonymous by design — a message of peace from the people of the East to the entire world.
Who can take part in Peace From East in 2027?
Anyone in Pakistan, India, Thailand, or the UAE. All ages. No experience needed.
How do I take part in Peace From East?
Send a short video of yourself raising a peace sign. You must be in Pakistan, India, Thailand, or the UAE. Through the form on the Peace From East page, or by email.
How should I film my Peace From East video?
Not as a selfie. Ask a family member or a friend to film you with their phone, so you can stand back and show the place you are in. Hold the phone sideways, the way you hold it to watch a video, and stand a little close. Look at the camera, raise your peace sign and smile. It is just how you normally film on your phone, with nothing special needed.
Will I be credited in the Peace From East video?
No. Peace From East is anonymous by design — because it is a message of peace from the people of the East to the entire world, not from any one person. No names, no credits, no recognition. Just faces, signs, and the anthem. The video belongs to everyone because it belongs to no one. (The other two projects, World Prayer for Peace and World Mail Art for Peace, do credit every artist by name and country.)
I live outside Pakistan, India, Thailand and the UAE. Can I take part in Peace From East?
Not yet. Peace From East is a message of peace from the people of the East, and it grows one country a year: the Philippines in 2028, Malaysia in 2029, China in 2030, Kuwait in 2031. You are welcome to watch, to share the call with people you know, and to join the list to hear when each edition opens. Prayer and mail art are open to everyone, worldwide.
